Role: Senior Java Developer Level: Mid-to-Senior or Senior (can accept either) Type: Direct Permanent hire at the client Location: Sofia ([!} NOTE [!]: this is an on-site role) Start: Flexible, ideally within a month, but happy to consider long notice periods ABOUT: Join an experienced engineering team building and enhancing high-performance backend systems for a Software platform. You’ll work on core product functionality, developing reliable and scalable services while collaborating closely with other engineers and technical stakeholders. **Key responsibilities** * Develop and maintain backend services using Java 21 and Spring Boot * Design and implement scalable, high-performance solutions * Work with PostgreSQL and relational database systems * Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services * Troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve system performance * Contribute to code reviews, technical standards and best practices * Collaborate with front-end, QA and other engineering teams **Requirements** * Strong commercial experience with Java * Hands-on experience with **Java 21 and Spring Boot** (Must-Haves) * Solid PostgreSQL and SQL knowledge (MUST) * Strong understanding of backend architecture and software design principles * Experience building scalable, production-grade applications * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
